v0.7.0 — helmora 0.7.0

Published October 10, 2026.

  • **Download Helmora straight from the app.** On the web app, the Install step’s Download button now downloads the installer right there instead of opening the download page in a new tab. The step names the downloaded file, and on Linux it shows the command that runs the downloaded installer. A refused download offers a retry, or a new setup link when the old one has expired.
  • **The terminal setup command works on the web app.** The command under Terminal setup now points at an address the web app can serve, so pasting it into a terminal installs Helmora instead of failing on the first line.
  • **Pick your agents when adding a computer.** Adding a computer is now three steps: Device, Agents, Install. The Agents step lists every agent Helmora works with, none required. The Windows installer and the terminal setup fetch the picked agents (Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode); the macOS package installs Helmora alone and the Connected step installs the picks afterwards.
  • **The Connected step finishes the setup.** Once the new computer connects, the Connected step lists the agents you picked, says which are installed, and installs a missing one from the step itself. Claude Code can now be installed through Helmora like the other agents.
  • **Fork a Codex or Copilot chat.** A Codex or Copilot chat’s saved-chat menu gains Fork chat, the way each provider’s own app does it: a new independent chat with the completed history, in the same project, with the provider’s confirmed settings. The source chat stays as it was.
  • **Codex chats can be archived and restored.** A Codex chat’s own Archive and Restore are available, with archived chats filtered from the list and restorable from Settings.
  • **Copilot’s Fleet.** Copilot’s native Fleet command is available in a Copilot chat, with its permissions and cancellation handled the way Copilot does them.
  • **A voice recording is never lost.** A recording stays on the device until its text has been delivered, and an account that already agreed to cloud voice can record while offline; the text arrives once the connection is back.
  • **A request that draws no reply checks the link.** A web tab whose connection has silently died no longer reads online while a sent prompt waits out its deadline. The app pings the link within seconds, reconnects, and sends the prompt again.
  • **A turn streamed into a background tab keeps its rows in order.** A turn that ran while its chat was a background pane tab now shows every text block, tool row and question card in order when the tab is shown again, instead of one joined row with the tool rows missing.
  • **Computers read connecting, not offline, after a reload.** Reloading the web app no longer shows every computer offline for a moment while the connection comes back.
  • **A lighter web tab.** Production web builds no longer register with the React Developer Tools browser extension, which kept every removed part of the page in memory while the tab streamed.
  • **Support queue tabs hold still while loading.** The report queue’s scope tabs and summary no longer shift when the first page of reports arrives, so a click during loading lands where it was aimed.
  • **PR panel switches show the change, not the old state.** Tapping Auto-merge or Auto-fix CI on the PR panel keeps the switch spinning until GitHub reports the change, instead of showing the old state for a moment first.
  • **A line under the last message while background tasks run.** Between turns, while an agent’s background tasks are still running, a quiet line under the last reply says so in the provider’s own words, such as “Waiting on 2 background tasks” for Claude Code and “2 background terminals running” for Codex.
  • **A woken reply’s caption counts only its own thinking.** When a finished background task wakes the agent, the reply’s “Thought for” caption no longer includes the idle wait before it.
  • **Windows Setup waits for a new agent’s first run.** After installing a picked agent, Setup gives its first version check two minutes instead of fifteen seconds, so GitHub Copilot’s one-time package extraction on a slow PC no longer ends the install with an error.
