v0.6.0 — helmora 0.6.0
Published October 9, 2026.
- **A new first-run setup.** Signing in with no computer connected shows a welcome screen with one action, Add a device. It steps through whether the Helmora service is already installed on that computer (Yes, or No and install it for me, with a way back), the install itself, then Connected with Set up agents or Open chat. The welcome notification opens the same flow.
- **Voice setup lives where you use it.** The first time you tap the microphone in a chat or a feedback report, Helmora opens Settings → Voice & input: a live preview of the composer listening and your words landing, where the recording is sent (Groq running Whisper, with OpenAI and then Google’s Gemini through OpenRouter as fallbacks), and Enable voice or Not now. Either choice takes you back with your draft kept. First-run setup no longer asks about voice.
- **Setup buttons read the same way everywhere.** No, Cancel and Not now sit on the left; Yes, Continue and Enable voice on the right. On wide windows the device setup’s buttons sit under the step’s content instead of at the bottom of the window, and the install step’s link is now called “Terminal setup”.
- **Settings on a phone no longer hides its last button.** The bottom of each Settings page clears the home indicator, so controls like Withdraw consent on Voice & input can be reached.
- **Codex reviews can target a branch.** In a Codex chat, /review offers Codex’s own choices: review uncommitted changes, or compare against a local or remote base branch.
- **Copilot’s /security-review.** Copilot’s own security review is in the command picker next to /review, with its severity table in the result.
- **Copilot’s /review and plan review.** Copilot’s own /review is available in the composer, and when Copilot shares a plan for approval the full plan shows in the approval dock.
- **Task cards keep Codex’s model and effort.** The agents Codex starts now show the model and reasoning effort Codex resolved for them, live and in reopened history.
- **A waiting question stays answerable.** Coming back to a chat whose agent is still waiting on a question shows the question again instead of saying it is closed.
- **Connected computers survive a sign-in hiccup.** A computer whose connection dropped while its sign-in was still being checked no longer gets stuck; it reconnects cleanly.
- **Git on a Mac uses one developer folder.** Both of Helmora’s git reads use the same Xcode developer folder, and a chat’s pull-request header says so when the chat’s folder has no repository.
